Araldite® Rapid Epoxy Syringe 24ml

The syringe wins the worst design of the year award.
It solves a problem we didn't have (mixing equal parts of two resins) and introduces numerous problems we didn't have:

1. The original two tubes of araldite was a brilliant system - easy to mix in roughly equal proportions on a waste piece of plastic wrapping and apply with a waste piece of plastic stick. And by keeping the two parts separate, it stored for many many years without going off.
2. Each use of the syringe system now wastes about 7% of the araldite, by leaving it to harden in the mixing nozzle, which also consigns the nozzle to the bin.
3. Only 2 disposable mixing nozzles are supplied, so after 2 uses, the syringe can only be used without a mixing nozzle - back to how Alraldite was originally - or discarded.
4. There's a labyrinth of little plastic baffles all the way down the nozzle to ensure the resins mix together. But this makes it extremely hard to squeeze the syringe, especially if also trying to direct the output with precision onto a broken workpiece - especially for someone not so strong as a hefty bloke like me. I was using Araldite 'Standard', which might be more viscous than 'Rapid'.
5. The finger grips on the syringe are poorly shaped, so it's hard to get a decent part of your fingers behind them.

It gives a really strong adhesion. A little bit goes a long way. Really easy to use. The resealable cap is very useful and doesn't get stuck on like others. Handy to have some scrap to mix it up on. Easy to clean up any mess before it goes off. All good!
